Since Eco-Products exhibition started in 1999, exhibition is marking its 10th anniversary this year. Since the exhibition began, the number of exhibitors and visitors has kept on increasing every year, and the scale of the exhibition has grown in size greatly. With an increase in number of visitors and size, the Eco- Products is making a lot of effort to reduce pressure on the environment and to make the exhibition an eco-friendly event. Let me introduce you some of their actions.
One of their actions is the “Eco-Products Zero Garbage Project”. All the trash in the exhibition will be sorted into 11 different kinds of materials. For example, when you throw away a coke bottle, it will be separated into three parts: plastic bottle, bottle cap, and plastic label. The plastic bottle will turn into a polyester material, and the cap and the label into a PET material. The leftover food will be composted or used as livestock feed. The sorted garbage will be weighed, composted for transportation, and recycled into a new material.

Another action is the use of natural energy. In the exhibition, 140,000kWh of electricity is used. This is all covered by the natural energy, which is generated by wind power and biomass energy. For an example, the electricity used for illumination, screens, and so on are all run by clean energy.
The exhibition is also calling for companies to display showpieces that are reusable and recyclable as much as possible. If any material has to be disposed, ones that are mostly clean will be recycled and ones that are not will be used as a fuel. They will use LED illumination lights to lessen the electrical power consumption, and introducing bio-plastic carpets.
When you visit the exhibition, take a look around and see how these actions are done!
